Tapestry online learning journals:

In 2020 we introduced an exciting new way to record, track and share your child’s learning during their time at Tadpoles. Using a system, called an ‘online learning journal’. After trialling it for a year we found our staff, children and parents were very happy with the online platform and we were very excited to continue using it!  The system we are using is called ‘Tapestry’ and is hosted in the UK on dedicated, secure servers. These servers conform to very high safety standards and are proactively managed by a central security team. The safeguarding of our children is very important to us. Everything that is added to Tapestry will be added to our preschool account and can only be viewed by the Preschool staff that use the system, and also yourself, using your own log in details. Tapestry admin staff will only access these accounts with prior permission from the preschool (for example, if required to solve a technical issue).

Our staff members have different lead days each week, one day per week. On their lead day they are the only ones who have a tablet and take photos to put onto the children's Tapestry journals. We don't want all staff on the tablets all the time as spending quality time with your children to teach them and provide them with learning experiences is so much more important to us. Which is why we have made it so its one person per day. So we have a healthy balance.

We also love to see what fun and exciting events your children get up to at home too! By having this journal you are also able to add photos and videos of your children to share with us. Whether it be holidays or birthdays etc we love to see it! We also try to video important events here such as our annual Christmas sing song and other events such as our end of year celebration. Once your childs time here at Tadpoles has come to the end we create a link of all of the children's tapestry accounts for you to download and keep as a keepsake too!
